Slide 2 shows tumor on the peripheral margin at the skin surface, slide 3 shows tumor in the margin near the skin surface and also heading deep, and slide 4 shows the three tumor nodules heading peripherally and deeply. Therefore three of the four specimens have positive margins. Note that 100% of the surgical margin is contained in just these four cryostat sections. Do we need to go back and remove more tissue from the patient?
